Rosacea / Broken Blood Vessels

ROSACEA / BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS

WHAT CAUSES REDNESS AND BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS ON THE FACE?

Rosacea is the most common cause of redness and broken blood vessels on the face. Although it is one of the most common skin disorders, Rosacea remains undiagnosed in millions of people around the globe. It can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems, Rosacea goes largely unrecognised, and more importantly, untreated. It can can cause a red-faced look and its effects are often mistaken for acne. Severe symptoms of Rosacea can result in self-esteem issues, with those afflicted cancelling both social and professional engagements due to sudden flare-ups.

Laser therapy is now widely considered the primary treatment for telangiectasia (visible blood vessels) and is also very effective for reducing extensive redness on the face.

HOW DOES ROSACEA TREATMENT WORK?

Vascular lasers emit wavelengths of light targeted for the tiny visible vessels just under the skin. Heat from the laser’s energy builds in the vessels, causing them to disintegrate.

In general, one to three treatments are required at six-week intervals, depending on the severity of redness and red blood vessels.
